By train
Via Basel or Zurich – Lucerne – Brünig-Hasliberg – Meiringen- Brienz- Hofstetten (stop: Dorfplatz)
Via Bern – Interlaken – Brienz – Hofstetten (stop: Dorfplatz)
Buses run between Brienz and Hofstetten. In summer it is also possible at certain times to take the bus from Brünig-Hasliberg in the direction of Hofstetten. You can find more detailed information in the SBB timetable.
By car
Arrival via Bern:
You drive from Bern via Thun, Spiez, Interlaken and then take the Brienz exit. From there you drive to Hofstetten / direction Ballenberg West. Drive into the village, after about 200m you will have reached your destination.
Arrival via Basel / Zurich / Lucerne:
From Basel and Zurich you can reach us on the autobahn via Lucerne (towards Interlaken), then over the Brünig Pass to Brienz. There you drive again to Hofstetten / direction Ballenberg West. Drive into the village, after about 200m you will have reached your destination.
The Alpenrose is about 300m from the Ballenberg West open-air museum entrance.
